We have had a wonderful week here, using "Westview" as our base. The weather has been fabulous every day, and we have watched the incredible sunsets from the cottage window. There aren't enough superlatives to describe Westview. The decor is wonderful, and every need has been catered for. We have certainly appreciated the thoughtful details - we have wanted for nothing. Hopefully, we will be back sometime in the not-too-distant future. There is much more to do and see in this beautiful part of Scotland.

Westview isn’t currently set up for pets, we’ve chosen to keep it fully non-pet-friendly so it stays spotless and allergy-friendly for every guest. We know that’s not what every dog owner wants to hear, and as dog lovers ourselves we understand, but it’s a decision we’ve made to keep the cottage in the immaculate condition our guests love.

How many people does Westview Cottage sleep?
Westview sleeps up to 6 guests across three ground-floor bedrooms, a king with en-suite, a double, and a twin that can be made into a king on request.

What are the best things to do near Port William, Galloway?
There’s a huge amount right on your doorstep. Guests love the coastal walks along Luce Bay, the harbour at high tide, and day trips to the Mull of Galloway, Port Logan Fish Pond and Wigtown, Scotland’s National Book Town. We’ve written full guides to all of this on our blog.

Is there parking at the cottage?
Yes, there’s roadside parking right on Main Street, just steps from the front door.

Is there a pub nearby?
For now, the nearest pubs are a short drive away in Wigtown, the Isle of Whithorn or Garlieston. That’s about to change though, our family is opening the Maxwell Tavern right here in the village, a proper local pub just a short walk from the cottage, before the end of 2026.
